ABC Wednesday - L for Liverpool

I felt that I was running out of suitable photographs to load to my Rambler Blog. So a few days ago, I travelled from Manchester one sunny morning on the train to Liverpool with the intention of taking quite a few photographs of this city made famous by the Beatles.

First problem was that  it was very dull and not the weather for taking photographs -

Second problem - the batteries in my camera failed and  I could only  take two pictures -

and here they are ..........

Near Lime Street bus station looking across the city to the famous Liver Building.

" Somewhere "  behind  Lime Street  railway station near to the Walker Art Gallery.

I shall have to return some time - on a sunny day - and with fully charged batteries ..

Fancy going all that way... It as happened so many times in the past I now have two sets of rechargeable batteries, and always carry the spare fully charged set with me... 'L' could also be for lesson... as there is one to be learned here.

Great pictures of a great city - despite the dreary weather.

Happy ABC Wednesday!

Ahh Liverpool. Back in the 70's I was there with a Christian Rock band and we sang in some of the churches and auditoriums. It was fun to sing where the Beatles got their start...

The Logical choice. Bad Luck about the batteries. If you use AA you can get away with alkali for an emergency.

don't worry about the weather - one of my best Liverpool pics was take in the rain.

I've always wanted to go to Liverpool. Seems like some band came from there. I like the new Ringo song "Liverpool"

I only went to Liverpool once. That was on a Choir Outing from Alton in Staffordshire. I was very impressed.
