ABC Wednesday - P for Palm

ABC Wednesday - and we now have P for Palm.

We've all seen palm trees somewhere but who's seen them made of concrete ??

You'll find a collection of giant concrete palms here in this little square in Guardamar - all looking very attractive amongst the trees and bushes .

It was not always so - at one time the square had no trees or bushes and was frequented by " the young " on skateboards - not really an attractive place at all.

Summer 2007 and planting out of the area commenced and within a year the trees and bushes have taken hold and are now a good display .. making the whole area look a lot better .

Palms of concrete - that was a new one! Maybe that should have been painted?

Oh neat... that's super cool! Gigantic concrete palm trees. Guaranteed to stay put even in the strongest of the winds! But watch out for those concrete coconuts. Ouch! =D

That would make an OddShot too - concrete palms.
I am acting as Denise Nesbitt's proxy, Petrus - so thanks for submitting work to ABC Wednesday.

Yes, this is unique! We have hardy palms here in Vancouver, BC but I know your concrete ones will survive well as they don't need any water at all. :)

Lovely palm sculptures! Quite novel in white contrasting beautifully with the green of living plants!

Those are lovely! And oddly enough, though I like the square both ways and am very fond of greenery, I like the second picture better!
