ABC Wednesday - Y for yacht.

Y is for yacht - here at Mevagissey in Cornwall

A tourist honey spot - you'll find lots of winding lanes and cobbled streets - bars, cafes and all the associated tourist paraphernalia. Lots of yachts, sailing boats and fishing vessels in the harbour.

Once a thriving fishing village Mevagissey has suffered like other ports with the decline of the fishing industry.

Since my visit to Cornwall I have discovered that my ancestors came from Truro and were tin miners  ( that other famous Cornish occupation )

Ah, more yachts!! Great picture - oddly relaxing (which I know from bitter experience yachting is not relaxing at all!!)

Great Y.
Wish I had one.

My Toyota 4Runner is my Land Yacht.
It doesn't float for too long.

Nice job,

Cornwall is on our short-list for next years holiday. In fact, we should have gone this year, but we had to postpone it.

A pity, I can see!

Lovely photos. I especially like the reflections in the water and the houses climbing the more distant hills. My ancestors came from Cornwall, but I have only visited it briefly.
