The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

French North Africa - Italy 1939-45

These pictures have been lying around for many years without seeing the light of day.

Thought it was time they were published - someone  may recognise a person or place ..

This bar possibly in Algeria was called  La Haxnes I think - difficult to read the writing on the back of the photo. Taken in 1942

Children and women at a well - possibly in Algeria or Tunisia - 1942 ?

British troops on motor bikes - again somewhere in North Africa or Italy

The rider of this bike is named as R.Clements

Dare I say - typical British Tommy - fag hanging out !! Name of J Crofts

Most of these troops would be attached to the Signals regiment I would think

Penguins - move your cursor and take them for a walk !!

Say it as it is ......

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land amongst the stars.

Look around !!!

What is this life, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare?
