ABC Wednesday - I for Ireland

I is for Ireland.

Here on the west coast not too far from Galway City.

This picture was taken from Dunguaire Castle and shows the nearby village and small bay.

Not far from here is the famous Burren with its barren limestone scenery.

I haven't been to Galway - always wanted to sail in a Galway Hooker. They still race them down there.

This is very lovely and the buildings along the street are outstanding in their beautiful colours.

I can't say that I really would know Galway, since it was only one stop among other places on my tour around Ireland, but it definately looked like nice town.
When I was thinking about tourist destination that start with Ireland was among first locations along with Iceland and Italy that came to my mind. Nice to see that someone made post about Ireland.

Oh Ireland! We went in 2006 for the North West 200! Was awesome. Hope to go again one day. We'll be seeing some of the irish racers this weekend over at Scarborough Races.

Thanks so much,
D
