Bullrush



You can just see the Bullrush through the leaves.

Another spelling is Bulrush and it is also known as the Cattail. Latin name Scirpus lacustris .

It has been used in weaving and as an aid to water purification.

Origin of the name is Middle English and bull means large or coarse .



These were found at the Burrs country park in Bury.
