£20 Notes

I was standing in a queue at Tesco when I heard someone mention that one of our banknotes was being withdrawn - News to me !!

A quick visit to the Bank of England web site confirmed that the £20 note with the portrait of Sir Edward Elgar will be withdrawn on the 30th June 2010.

After that date you will be able to pay them into a Bank or Post Office for several months and then in the long term it will mean a trip to the Bank of England.

So clear out your old wallets and purses now ..
