The Past

Kettlewell - St. Mary's Church

The church built in 1885 was one of a series - the first church on this site originated in 1120.

What I have always found unusual here are the types of gravestones - normal slabs cut by a mason but also lumps of rock cut out of the hillside and a plaque attached . Cheapness perhaps or a fashion statement / local custom ?? Anyone know ??

It is certainly a peaceful setting.

Very pretty area ...

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land amongst the stars.

Look around !!!

What is this life, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare?
