Heaton Park in north Manchester is a pleasant place to wonder around and get away from the noise of the city centre.There is a lake with boats for hire - rather expensive , Bowls for the public - but only on two afternoons per week in the summer season.
Also Highland cattle , cafe's and children's play areas, plus an animal corner.
November 5th sees a big bonfire and firework display plus a travelling fair.
